Having run a full backup I cloned the task to create a differential task and an incremental task. The aim being that the system backup can trigger off the laptop's backup at full, differential or incremental according to the established regime. However, the differential seems determined to do a full backup first, despite being cancelled and restarted. Is there a way to avoid this annoyance? Will the incremental also try to do a full backup first time?
Whilst the administrator account was running the backup I logged in in my own (unprivileged) account and Cobian Reflector told me that there was another instance of the program running, and stopped it! Should an ordinary user be able to crash an administrator's job?
