Hi there,
The server runs 24/7 365 days a week. It's our main server for file shares. The file shares are what we're backing up to a Synology NAS. I fell the issue might be the shear volume of files and changes that are made to them daily. It's not realistic to do daily backups I'm beginning to think due to the sizes of the backups being created. The system service is running. It's just not deleting the old full backups. I'm honestly trying to move most of the files off to Sharepoint and decrease the amount of files that need to be backed up to the NAS.
Basically I want - 1 full backup - incrementals for 7 days - delete full backup - create new full backup - erase incrementals as new incrementals get made. Something like that. Not sure how to create that or if it's possible, or if all the old incrementals can just get erased after the new full backup is successfully made since all of those changes should be caught in the new full backup.
